5.1 Karma Philosophy – Birth & Death Cycle
The concept of reincarnation describes the process in which the “soul” of an individual is believed to pass through the cycle of birth, life, death and rebirth. In other words, a soul never dies, it simply moves from one body to another i.e. at the time of death, a soul, being eternal and immortal, leaves one body and enters a new body in the form of a new-born child. When one dies, the soul is reborn or reincarnated into a different body (in the form of a new born child) depending on the Karma of its previous life. A person gathers good Karma by his good and benevolent deeds (This is further discussed in detail later)
Our births are not our beginning and neither will our deaths be our end.
As birth is a continuation of our soul’s journey, so too is death.
